Since I can’t sleep, thanks to some very unpleasant sensations in my nose caused by this *stupid* cold, I’ve decided to blog. I’ve run out of other things to do on the Internet. I’ve even downloaded music, and still my nose is being a major pain in the… face.
So, I’m making a list. A list of the places I would go to right now (or in the coming year) if I had the money. Of course, this list is also a list of places I’d like to go to eventually, but I’m being impatient so I want to go now. 🙂 Please keep in mind that they’re in no particular order, except in the order I’ve thought of them just now.
Las Vegas – Already been there twice, never really liked it, but there’s another reason for this one. Cirque du Soleil is performing “O” at the Bellagio, and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it. And, since I’m addicted to Cirque du Soleil, I want to go. That’s that. Oh, and I’d like to see the Venetian Hotel.
Venice – Speaking of things Venetian, why not see the real McCoy? Been there several times, but I really miss it. I want gelato, I actually want to ride in a gondola this time, and I want to climb the stairs in Saint Mark’s to go see the horse statues. I couldn’t do it that last time I was there, and I regret that. Also, I want to take better pictures (speaking of that, tomorrow I’m going to try and work on the photography section, which will include some shots from Italy.)
Edinburgh – Tonight’s episode of Ground Force was in Edinburgh, and it bugs me that I haven’t been there yet. There are people to meet, places to visit, pictures to take! Dang it, I wanna go.
France – Dream french vacation would be spending a few days in Paris, renting a car, then driving down the coast to the French Rivera. Long drive, sure, and it could take ages, but that’s the point. Think of the pictures I could take, think of the funny travelogue! It’d be heaven. Now I just need to find A) money, and B) someone to drive the car. There’s no way I’ll be driving in France any time soon on my own.
Australia – I want to go exploring in the outback of… Sydney. 🙂 I’m too afraid of those funnel web spiders to truly go exploring. I have a friend from Australia, and a nice Australian couple stayed with us for a few days last year. Nice folks all the way around, and they’ve told me great Australia stories.
New Zealand – Even more wonderful stories about New Zealand, so I have to go there.
New England – I want to do something similar to my France trip in New England. I want to start in Baltimore, drive up the coast to Maine, then come back through New Hampshire, Vermont, upstate New York, and Pennsylvania. Do a big loop around New England. It’d be great. But again, I need money and a driver.
I think that’s it for now. I know there are more, but that’s the immediate list.
You know, maybe the perfect job for me would be a travel show. My London Logs have been relatively popular, my blog is now getting well over 100 hits a day, so I must be doing something right. I’m pretty good in front of a camera, I don’t clam up or anything. I think it’d be fantastic. I could go around the world, occasionally meeting internet friends. A real visual blog, set against the backdrop of world travel. Now I just need to convince some production team that they should fund it. Hmm… BBC or Discovery Travel? Maybe I should start emailing people. But maybe I should start that adventure tomorrow, since it’s past 1am and I think my writing’s getting dodgy. I’ve been sending the funniest typos to Sam. My personal favorite was when I tried to write “That’s good” and wrote “That’s god.”
Good night. I hope.
