Time for a big ‘duh!’ I completely forgot to mention that I got a violin today! While I was sleeping my mom went cruising on ebay. We’ve been looking at musical instruments on ebay for the past few days because I decided I wanted to play the flute. Why a violin, then? I’ve always wanted to play it, but they were always too expensive. Anyway, I’ve been keeping my eye on a violin auction that’ll end in 21 hours, but my mom found one that was cheap that was going to end in ten minutes, so she got that one too. It was only $70, and it’s brand new! It’s not exactly perfect, since the tailpiece is metal and supposedly that’s a bad thing (I know next to nothing about violins.) But the rest is solid wood, so it can’t be all bad. Plus, normally they’re really expensive. Anyway, take a look. (oh, and by the way, ‘fabric100@aol.com’ is my mom’s ebay account, so don’t go emailing that address when you want to talk to me.)
We’re still bidding on the other violin cause right now it’s only $20. And it’s got a pure ebony tail piece. MmmmMmm. It’s brand new, straight from Germany. I think that’s way too cool. I think I’ll play the ebony one and either sell the other one, or save it. I’ve got this grand idea that when I’m older and have a bunch of kids I want to have a music room. Inside will be a bunch of musical instruments, so if the kids ever feel like they’d like to try to play an instrument they can just go to the music room. I’ve wanted to play a dozen instruments, just to try it, but I’ve never liked the pressure of having to make my parents buy it, and then what if I break it? What if I find out I don’t like it? It’s awful, way too much pressure for a kid just exploring creativity. So, if I get both, I’ll be really happy, and so will my kids. Eventually.
I’m also still watching a flute auction to see if I can get it. That’s a bit more expensive, but worth it, since that’s what I wanted to play in the first place. 🙂
I think that’s it for now. Still nothing insightful or heartfelt as of right now. I’ll keep you posted if I decide to wax poetic. 🙂
