Not even a day after getting used to going to bed at a reasonable hour and waking up before 10am and I’m already back to staying up past midnight. I seem to have the worst luck when it comes to “Early to bed, early to rise.” What happens after waking up early? I get sick. My cold acted up today, as did my stomach. Maybe, *maybe* what I’ve been suspecting has finally started happening. My stomach’s taking a turn for the worse, I’ll lose the sliding scale of weight that I gain and lose every other month, and then things will be back to normal for a while. I hope so, at least. I’ve been kind of worried about how I gained the weight, the stomach aches were there, but I haven’t lost it yet. It’s very troublesome, this.
But, I have happy news to report! I just finished reading the latest book in the off-shoot from the Ender series by Orson Scott Card – “Shadow Puppets.” Everyone needs to read these books. It’s important. There should be a law. You should read them. Now. Because I say so. 🙂 Go get ‘Ender’s Game’ and enjoy that, then get ‘Ender’s Shadow.’ If you’re like me, you’ll enjoy that one almost even more than the first. After that, you still have more to read! ‘Shadow of the Hegemon,’ and *finally* ‘Shadow Puppets.’ They’re all worth it. I got so hooked on the latest book that I’ve read it in just over 24 hours, almost straight, only allowing two interruptions; sleep and church. That’s it. The rest of the time I spent reading. I started last night on the way home from New York last night and finished it about ten minutes ago. It’s fantastic, and ended so much better than I was hoping! I was worried about that, but I can’t tell you why cause it will spoil it.
I’m sure once I finish the other books in the straight Ender’s series I’ll be raving about those too, but I’ve enjoyed the off-shoot series so well, which focuses on one of the other characters named “Bean”, that I just kind of forgot to read the other ones. I’ve enjoyed the military strategy in these books too much. I certainly hope it’s not the last in the Bean saga.
Who’d have guessed, but since I complained about not being tired the Irony Gods have decided to laugh at me. I’m actually tired now.
