Thanks to Paul I finally know what “Solution for Rock Star Ate My Hamster” means. It’s still confusing, but at least there’s some connection somewhere. Apparently it was a video game from way back when in 1987. You acted as the manager of a band made up of such stars as Meathead, Tina Turnoff, Bill Collins, Anne Smallpox, and Hazzy Hazbeen. With a strict budget and an imposing time limit you had to bring your band to the top. It sounds extraordinarily odd and I’m still not sure where the hamster comes into play. But now we know. Maybe now I can finally sleep at night knowing that my initial mental image wasn’t true – every time I had heard ‘rock star ate my hamster’ I had a very disturbing image of the Rolling Stones, snarling, and little bits of fluff in their teeth. It was very… strange.
