This will be my last blog until Sunday night because I’m off to New York City for a while. My Dad and I are driving up tomorrow morning for a little birthday celebration for Sujit and to see the sights. My goals are to see Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, certain spots in Central Park, Times Square, and Tiffany’s. 🙂 I think I can fit that into two afternoons. At least, I hope so. If I end up having extra time I’d like to go see Grand Central Station and/or the Brooklyn Bridge. Ooo, and the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. I am in love with that hotel. I’ll have to look that up and see exactly where it is. Oo, 301 Park Ave. That’s definitely do-able. 🙂 Hurrah! Now if only I had the guts to break from the mantra of the Tiffany’s Game (“Never let down your facade”) and actually take pictures of the inside. I might have to sneak a few. That mantra is exactly the reason why I don’t have any pictures of the inside of Harrod’s in London. I managed to sneak one of the Egyptian halls because there were lots of other people taking pictures, so I decided that fit within the rules of the game.

I might take pictures inside Tiffany’s because that will fit in with my game plan. I’ll be the quintessential First-Time New Yorker; innocent and naive of New York Ways, awed by the architecture and legend, and lots of extra cash in the pocket for that perfect momento. And why not package that momento in a baby blue box with a dainty white bow? 🙂 I fully plan on entering Tiffany’s in full costume, lipstick and all.

I keep waffling between thinking I have lots of time and thinking I have nowhere near enough. I guess I’ll just see how it works out. Hopefully Dad and I will get there before noon on Friday and we’ll be able to get a lot done. I’ll try not to get my hopes up about getting everything done and that way I can just play it by ear and see how it goes. If I miss something, no worries. I’m sure I’ll be back eventually.

So off I go. Wish me luck! 🙂
