After much deliberation the jury has finally returned and it has voted unanimously to post the Christmas present now. (And no, that was not written in the third-person. The jury consists of two people; my friend Paul and I. It took a lot of thought to decide when to release it.) So, you ready? You have to promise me something before you can download it. Clear your throats, raise your left big toe, and repeat after me:
I, < - state your name - >, do solemnly swear that I will not take the following gift seriously. I acknowledge that it is all meant in good fun, nonsense, and hip hip hurrah, bolly bolly. Good times for all, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, and may your New Year be full of further hurrahing.
Done? Good. Remember, this is the Honor System, so I’m expecting you to keep your word and recite that pledge. Or you will be cursed by a scrooge and you’ll wake up tomorrow morning with an incurable cowlick.
(If the download won’t work from there, try one of the following mirror sites: One. Two. Three. If those still don’t work, email me and I’ll send it to you.
In other news, AOL Bowlarama went well tonight. 🙂 My scores weren’t stellar, but they weren’t horrid either. I was just pleasantly over my average (a piddly 81.) For the first game I got an 88, second 97, and the third an 83. No where near my hopes and aspirations, but something happened to make up for that. Remember how last week I kicked serious butt by scoring 120 in the second game? Right before we started playing an announcer game over the loudspeaker. I ignored it like I always do, since it never has anything to do with me. Then I heard, “Heather Lawyer.” (It gets read like that all the time.) Everyone started clapping, telling me, “Congratulations!” and saying that I’d better “Go up front to get it.” I hadn’t been listening so all I said was, “Go get what?” I went up and found out that I’m the Bowlarama Star of the Week! I knocked down the highest number of pins over my average. 🙂 It’s all very exciting. I got a lovely patch and a cute little certificate. Now I have to get myself a bowling bag so I can put my patch on it and display it with pride. But isn’t that just fabulous? And if my team keeps kicking butt we may even get special trophies at the end of the season.
Next Monday night should be loads of fun. It’s the league pot luck Holiday party. I fully plan on spending all of next Sunday afternoon in the kitchen cooking all sorts of sweeties. Cookies, brownies, cupcakes. Too bad I can’t take steak… 🙂
