I cannot believe how close to Christmas it is! At least I got my shopping done today. That’s a huge load off my mind, but of course, I forgot I had a big project to finish up for our special new family Christmas tradition. Jen started it last year – the Great Dollar Store Event. We each drew names for each other last month, and the assignment is to come up with the best gift possible. The only catch is, you can only spend a dollar, and you can only spend that dollar at certain locations. We’re allowed to embellish with things already in our own home, within reason. I’m embellishing at the moment and it’s taking a bit longer than I thought. But I’m SO going to win this year. This present kicks serious butt. The best $1.00 present ever! However, you’ll have to be in suspense as well since I can’t very well announce on here who the gift is for, or what it is. That would kind of spoil the surprise.
I’m actually only allowing myself to blog because something for yet another project is printing out at the moment and it might take a while. Then I have to get right back to embellishing. I’m expecting a few people to dispute my embellishments, but tough nookies. It’ll only be because they’re jealous. 😛 Hehe.
More chapters done of the book today, yadda yadda. Just assume from now on that I at least got a few chapters done in that fan fiction because I won’t let myself sleep at night without doing something to it. But Word keeps crashing. ARGH! I swear, some gremlins have invaded my computer but just for the express purpose of screwing up this fan fiction project. This time I have it saved in three different places, so HA!
Yes, I’ve lost it. Christmas Stress has hit me hard, and what gets me is that I don’t even have *that* much in the grand scheme of things to get stressed about. I think I’m just having a hard time getting excited about it for some odd reason. Who knows. I bet once my brother Tim and his wife Monica get here it’ll finally hit me what all this hubbub is about, then I’ll get into it and get all excited.
Printing’s done, now I need to go embellish. Sigh. I’ll probably be up late again, trying to get this done. Oh well! 🙂 All the pretty wrapping paper helped boost my Christmas spirits a bit today. 🙂
