Whoopsies. I signed off AOL, got all ready to wrap the last few presents for my Mom then get into bed, and then I realized I forgot to write in my blog. So this will be short because I’m busy, I’m tired, and I still feel like crap.
But, on the up side, I do feel a bit more confident today about my applications. I’m still not thrilled with what UCAS/Courtauld has done, but I’ll deal. And if it doesn’t work out I’ll resign myself to the fact that it wasn’t supposed to happen and something better will come along. So there. Take that, Fate, cause you suck! I’m in charge here, dang it, I open my own freakin’ doors.
Down side, I still feel sick. No more violent illnesses, but I wanted to just curl up all day and not get out of bed. However, exciting stuff was happening and I didn’t want to miss out. Andy and I went to the airport this afternoon to pick up my brother Tim and his wife Monica. They’ve come to visit for the holidays and I’ve been very excited about that. I waited in the baggage claim area for about two hours while Andy went up to the gate to get them (he works at the airport so he can do that legally.) It was fine, I had a great time watching all the people. There was one little Korean boy in particular who was just so cute. He had this huge blue coat on so he looked like this little blue cream puff with little teeny legs. He kept looking at me, smiling, and then he showed me his quarter. After that he started peaking at me from behind big columns and showing me the peace sign. After about twenty minutes of that, he started showing off by throwing kicks in the air, and then kicking the column. He was very cute.
The most exciting news of all, though – Monica’s PREGNANT!! Hoorah! I’m SO excited about that!! The way Tim and Monica told us was so funny. They gave us a present after dinner. It was a fold-out frame with three picture holders; two small ones on each side that flipped out, and a big one in the center. On the sides were pictures of Tim and Monica with shocked/happy faces, and in the center, “We proudly announce Grandbaby II, premiering in August 2003.” It was SO cute and very creative. 🙂 Since they bought the frame for a dollar, we’ve proclaimed them winners of the New Traditional Lawver Family Dollar Store Game. Cause, honestly, what’s better than a new grandbaby? 🙂
And now I really have to go to bed. But I have presents to wrap. Sigh. Oh well. 🙂 It’s Christmas cheer and all that, right? Uh huh.
