Big, big stuff happening today. 🙂 That’s what happens when I sleep in until 2 in the afternoon, clean my room, and then get bored. I swear, all of my greatest accomplishments stemmed from trying to relieve boredom. I think I should try to lead a very dull life, in the sense of day-to-dayness.

Anyway, on to the big stuff! I decided it was high time I do something with the Daily Prophet, since it hadn’t been adequately updated in ages. I’m sick and tired of the site being subject to the whims and fancies of my ill health. It’s time it became fully automated and fully fantastic. I realized I’ve had a plan in place for this proposed awesomeness for two years now. How sad is it that I haven’t actually enacted that plan yet? It’s sick and wrong, I tell you, sick and wrong.

So today, I did something about it. I’m building hype. I announced the entire plan on the Daily Prophet this very afternoon. I sat down, I wrote out the plan, didn’t even bother to look over it before publishing, and uploaded it. Once it was uploaded, then I read through it. I made one or two minor adjustments and left it the way my heart wanted it to be as I spilled out all of my emotions involving the plan. It’s up there, it’s out there for the public to see, and so far the reactions have been overwhelmingly supportive. I got a few emails from some good friends, promising donations and unending support. Everyone seems as enthusiastic about the plan as I am, which is very encouraging. I was worried that the plan would either be an absolute flop with readers, or an absolute 100% success. I think it’s leaning toward the latter, which makes me very happy indeed.

All I need to do now to get this puppy going is to fill out all the appropriate paperwork. Easier said than done. This is the IRS I’m talking about, so of course it’s going to be horribly confusing and overly complicated. I’m still baffled, even after calling the proper authorities and asking questions. I think I need help, but I’m sure I can find that somewhere. I’ve already named my board of directors – who knew I knew so many qualified people? My brother Kevin will serve on the board as our resident Technology Expert, and my (get this) Sister-in-law’s aunt, Margie Dautrich, is a teacher and a certified Writing Specialist. How absolutely perfect is that? And I, of course, will head the board as the Harry Potter Expert, Editor in Chief, Supreme Mugwump (it’s a Potter thing), Media Liaison, and All-Around Cool Person. I’m thrilled. The board couldn’t possibly be better, except, of course, if there were a generous billionaire on there somewhere. But I’m not greedy… the billionaire will come with time. 🙂

I’m thrilled about this plan. I can feel it, I know it will work. The last time I got this inwardly happy was when PotterWar launched. And look how that turned out! Great success. This will surpass them all… mwahahaha!

Apart from that, I’m also keeping myself occupied tonight by scanning all of my old press clippings and such. I realized that since almost all of them are newsprint, they’re going to fade relatively soon. That would be very sad indeed, so I’m scanning them all. Then, I’ll take them to a photo center to have them printed professionally. Once all that’s done, I’m going to frame them all and cover my entire wall with them. It’ll be fun! Cluttered, yes, but loads of fun. It will be my inspiration wall, right behind my monitor, so while I’m working on the Daily Prophet I’ll be able to look up and remember the feelings I had during PotterWar, the feelings that got me and my cause in those newspapers. And dang it, I’m gonna do it again, this time with the Daily Prophet itself. I’m going to spread it across the media as much as humanly possible. The more attention I can get, the more money. The more money I can get, the more I can expand the site to make it even better. And, with more attention, comes more eager kiddies who are excited about improving their writing skills.

This rules.
