Well I’ve had a lovely day today! I got to sleep in a bit, then after a bit of cleaning around the house, a new friend came by in the afternoon. It was great! We played cards, watched Real Genius, and talked for ages. It was nice for a change, and I actually felt more like myself for a change. I had energy (even though it was really a sugar-high after eating brownies), I was able to laugh a lot, and carry on conversations. I was still stumbling a bit with my speech from time to time, but it was nowhere near as bad as it usually is. I guess I need to go on the brownie diet – sugar cures everything! 😀

It was nice to spend a day with a nice new person for a change. It was refreshing. And, I can’t believe I’d never seen ‘Real Genius’ before! My family’s been talking about it and joking about it for as long as I can remember, but I never got to see it. I loved it, and now I’m dying to watch another stupidly funny Val Kilmer movie – ‘Top Secret’. I *love* that movie.

I have a confession to make. I can’t believe I’m about to say this… but I am in love with ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’. It’s certainly not for the faint of heart. But it is by far the funniest show I have seen in a very, very long time. I kind of avoided it for a while thinking it would be so chock-full of stereotypes that it would be predictable, but it’s just so great. It’s the best make-over show in the world because it isn’t a make-over, it’s a ‘make-BETTER’ show, for guys by guys. Most of the ‘Fab 5’ are actually pretty much devoid of over-the-top stereotypes, except for Carson, the Fashionista. But, I must say, Carson kills me, he just says some of the funniest things. I’m watching one episode now and he asked the Straight Guy, “Where did you get this shirt?” The guy responds, “K-Mart”. Carson gasped, put his hand over the other guy’s mouth, and said, “Don’t dare use language like that around me!” It’s classic!

Another confession. It’s too bad Kyan’s gay, cause he’s just so nice looking. 🙂

I’ve only seen two episodes so far, but I’m dying to see more. I think I’ll record one tomorrow, and then I’ll be glued to my TV next Tuesday night. Hoorah! Five cheers for the Fab 5!

My new mantra from the show: “Everything’s better in cashmere!” I so wish they’d come here and do Queer Eye for the Straight Girl. It doesn’t have the same ring, but I wanna get a make-better!

I should probably go to sleep, but this is too fun, even though I’ve already seen this episode… 🙂
