Car dealers like me, they really like me. Why do I say that? Because I’ve been invited along for a wonderful weekend full of on-roading, off-roading, gourmet meals, professional driving instructors, and swanky socialite soirees. And the best part – it’s all free! How? Who cares how! I’m going!

The first invitation I received was from BMW – naturally – for their “Ultimate Driving Experience.” It’s a one-day event held at a large racetrack in Maryland, where I’ll get to speed around the slalom in a brand new BMW X3, with a professional driving instructor in the passenger seat, teaching me all about proper braking, accident avoidance, and just how much fun you can have speeding around corners. 🙂 That’ll be on August 8th, which is oh so very exciting. I believe the event is only held once a year and it’s by invitation only, which makes me very happy.

But today, I got another invitation in the mail. This will be a new experience for me, as I’ve never driven a car like this before. What is it? It’s the “Range Rover Experience” – another one-day event at Morven Park Mansion out in Leesburg, Virginia. They’re only holding this event in four cities across the country, and this one’s most certainly by invitation only. At the event I’ll get to drive the brand new Land Rover LR3, both on- and off-road, again with the driving instructor. On top of that, Town & Country is hosting all sorts of presentations and food-tasting events, and there’s something to do with an orchid display. Like I said, I’ve never driven a Land Rover, so this should be a very exciting day for me. I fully plan on getting dressed up and playing the Tiffany’s Game the whole time.

Coincidentally, the Range Rover Event is the day before my Ultimate Drive – August 7th – so that’s perfect timing, don’t you think? A whole weekend of driving, playing the Tiffany’s Game, and hobnobbing with the other lovely people attending the events. Ee, I can’t wait! 🙂 August is gonna rock. Er, excuse me, August will be such a charming and decadent affair, don’t you agree? 🙂
