I think it’s time for some happy! I’ve been busy at work, trying my best to do some mindless productive activities to try and ease myself back into day-to-day mono-free life. I was pushing it too much the past few weeks and ended up regressing a bit in monoland. So, I’ve decided to postpone taking over the world for at least a week in order to accomplish smaller – albeit still empowering – projects.

Two nights ago, I remembered that I never did finish everything I meant to put up for sale in the Heather Show CafePress store. I’ve added several new products, including the lovely notebook to the left. I’m working on a calendar, and the most exciting bit – a blog book!

I’ve actually been meaning to make that blog book for a while. It will be a collection of the first year or two (depending on length vs. cost) worth of blog entries, all compiled into a lovely, well-designed book which will be available for purchase online through CafePress. I’m looking to keep the cost around $10 or so, hopefully for both years worth. Originally I wanted to do this purely for my benefit – I lost the first six months worth of blogs from before I was ever with Blogger, and I really miss those entries. There were a lot of interesting things going on in my life then, and I would have liked to have had a history of that. Oh well. I’m just determined not to let that happen with this blog.

Digital copies just aren’t good enough, I want to have it printed, bound; something I can keep as a permanent journal to show my kids some day. CafePress now has the option of selling paperbacks online, so I’ve decided to set about editing the first two years of posts and sell it.

I’ve already gotten some interest from others who rather like the idea of buying the book version. I don’t really understand why, but hey! Go for it! Hehe. I don’t really expect it to sell like hotcakes, but you just never know. Of course, I still can’t figure out why nearly 500 people have been reading this every day, so what do I know about how well it might sell?

It is going to be a lot of work, no doubt, but worth it. I exported the entries out of Moveable Type and started editing last night. I’m on page 123 of 985. (See why it might need to be two volumes?) I’m sure at least 100 of those pages will be deleted once I get rid of all the extra Moveable Type text and stuff, but we shall see.

Let’s see, in other happy news, I just recently found out there are five other Joinees in the Washington, DC area! I’m really excited. (In case you don’t know, I’m a part of the Join Me Collective, which was started by a strange yet loveable British comedian because he was bored. And really, we all should know by now that the best things in this world were born out of boredom. Learn more about it here, and please, won’t you join him? Just tell him Silver Joinee Heather from the USA sent you.) Anyway, so yes, five other Joinees! I was the second Joinee in all of the United States, so I’m quite pleased to know more have joined the ranks. I’ve emailed them all and will shortly be creating an online forum for us. If you’re in DC and feel like doing some good and making random people happy, join us!

What else is happening? I’m having my photo taken on Monday for a magazine. A few months ago I was interviewed by American Profile Magazine (it’s a newspaper magazine, like Parade). The article is about the five most popular parkways in the United States or something like that, and the columnist found an entry I wrote on my blog about the George Washington Memorial Parkway. He interviewed me and then I thought that was that. Well, I got an email from a photographer a couple days ago saying the magazine wants my picture. I’m more than happy to oblige, so on Monday I’ll be traipsing downtown to have my photo taken in my lovely car. Cool, eh?

The coming week should be good and happy as well, as it will be filled with unexpected visits from friends! Tomorrow I’m spending the day with a friend I’ve known for as long as I’ve been alive, and on Monday I’ll hopefully get to meet Guan, an amazing fellow, the webhost of HeatherLawver.com, and he’s also had a hand in programming the expansion of the Daily Prophet. So, in case you didn’t catch those hints, Guan’s absolutely amazing.

And now, I must bid you adieu. Go visit Guan’s site, go buy stuff from my CafePress store, and yeah, just be happy. 🙂
