It’s New Years Eve, but it doesn’t feel like it. Just yesterday, it seems, I was writing the final blog of 2003, I was looking forward to 2004, expecting it to be so much better. Sadly, I don’t think it was. Due to circumstances outside of my control, the first half of the year royally sucked. That sort of tainted the second half. In the past few months, though, I think I’ve salvaged the year from being a total loss, but we’ll see.

With that sentiment, it’s time for the 2004 recap.

Lows

– Being stalked by a man who went to my church.

– Having disgusting rumors about me spread around my church due to that man and a few of his friends, thus forcing me to feel alienated and abandoned.

– Catching mono, but living with it for three months without a diagnosis, thus being subjected to months of medical tests, doctors, emergency rooms, and pain. Kind of sucked when they thought I had syphilis.

Highs

– After a year of really hard work, finally obtaining 501(c)3 status for The Daily Prophet.

– Discovering that I’m not half bad at more complex driving techniques. The fact that I love it and that it could provide adventures for next year just makes it that much better.

– Learning that when I am most in need, I have a friend across the sea who will drop everything and take me into his home, simply so I will feel safe.

Accomplishments

– Like I said, 501(c)3 status for the Daily Prophet.

– Developed, planned, and organized the foundation of a television series that will kick serious butt. And to think, it’s actually working!

Travel

– London in April: fled to London at the very last minute to escape the stalker and his various cronies. I spent the entire month there, and would have stayed longer if I hadn’t gotten sick and had to come home. I still wish I hadn’t left when I did.

And there we have it. Not quite as adventure-filled as 2003, but let’s hope I got all the suckiness out of my system so that 2005 will be much, much better. I hope that you’ll be safe and happy this New Years Eve, and that when 2006 rolls around, we’ll all be able to look back on 2005 with a smile.
