At last, I have finally completed the second episode of The Heather Show Vintage Video Kitschorama! Since I’m going to be in Scotland for Thanksgiving this year, I thought I’d give you all a little early taste of the holidays with a special Thanksgiving themed episode. Get into the holiday spirit with an old film that’s actually pretty good for a change! It’s a true story about a family in Lawrence, Kansas who couldn’t afford a Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings. Watch as each and every one of them struggle to come to terms with a 1950’s holiday without the traditional turkey. It’s even acted out by the actual family that this happened to, so for once let’s excuse the subpar acting, okay? 🙂

All that said, this episode won’t have any Super Swell Subtitles. I know, it’s so sad, but in all honesty, I tried to write some, but I just didn’t have the heart to mock these poor people. Instead I hope you’ll get into the spirit of the holiday season a little early and learn from what the Johnson family has to say. It may seem a bit old, it may even seem a bit silly – heck, I couldn’t even stop from laughing at their eldest son’s name – but beyond all that is a message, one I’m sure we can all benefit from.

Once I come back from my trip across the pond there will be a fresh batch of entirely new episodes just for you, complete with subtitles and more surprises. I’ll even be working on them while I’m away – I’ve loaded up my iPod with oodles of silly old films and I’ll be watching and mocking whilst in the United Kingdom. Maybe when I return, you’ll see a bit of international flavor to the podcast. 😉 I also have a few other video surprises in the works, so be sure to stay tuned to The Heather Show.

So until then, sit back, relax, watch The Heather Show, and get that turkey craving started. Happy early Thanksgiving!
