Since getting my computer all upgraded I’ve been having a blast playing with the Sims 2 again. Now that it’s a million times faster, looks a million times better, and I can build houses that are a million times bigger, it’s like it’s an entirely new game! I’ve been having oodles of fun building my “perfect family”, and building them the perfect house. I was talking to my friend Jimi about it earlier today when it came up that he’d kinda like to see what all that perfection looked like, according to me. So I went into the game and took a bunch of snapshots, getting a cute family portrait of my sims and documenting certain rooms of my dream home. The gallery turned out so well that I thought I might as well share it here too!

Meet the Laliberte family! This is my charming Sims family, with parents David & Meg, the oldest twins Jack & Ivan, the younger twins Emma & Alastair, and Ike our friendly family android. They live in a beautiful two storey home, which is all dolled up and ready for the holidays. Now that my computer is so much faster, I’ve been able to download more custom content than ever before. That means I’ve been able to customize the family home in ways never before possible! I’ve had an absolute blast creating a home in what I consider my favorite signature style – combining a unique mix of modern and traditional into a warm, stylish, and inviting atmosphere. |
| Naturally, since I’m still fairly limited as far as sources for furniture, wallpaper, flooring, and other home decor items, I couldn’t go all out in choosing all the perfect items. But I think I did a fairly decent job of capturing my favorite style with the resources available. I used a wide mix of original Sims items, as well as custom content created by fans of the game who have a knack for 3D modeling. I’m really proud of the way it turned out, especially since it’s really unlike anything I’ve ever done before. I’ve never been able to create a room like this in real life, so it’s been really gratifying finally being able to pull it together in the Sims. |  |
To create this home, I literally started with nothing but a completely empty lot and a lot of ideas. I built the house, decorated it, furnished it, then supplied it with a family, all from the ground up and completely out of my own imagination. I’d really love for you to take a look and let me know what you all think of the work I did creating and designing the home. Since I’ve never really done anything in this style before, I’ve never gotten any feedback on it. Whether you think it’s fabulous or horrific, I’d love to hear your thoughts. 🙂
