Despite having to go to the doctor’s office, today ended up being a totally awesome day! Not only did I get to go to my favorite Thai place, I also got to play with some kitties!!!!! YAY!!!
After my loooong trip to the Navy hospital at Bethesda to see the doc, I convinced my Mom to take me to 4912 Thai, that Thai place I blogged about not long ago that serves the best garlic sauce chicken in the world. Unfortunately, though, after spending far too long in the warm waiting room at the hospital, I’d gotten even more overheated than I’d realized. When the always-smiling waiter delivered my piping hot delicious garlic sauce chicken and I took my first bite, that extra bit of heat hit me like a ton of bricks. A few bites later and I finally realized the full effect of having been overheated for well over an hour at the hospital. My Mom said she could just see me wilting, even before I finally spoke up about it. By like the tenth bite I couldn’t swallow anymore and I just felt utterly miserable. Which really sucked, cause man, I was starving and the food was SOOOO good!!!! I didn’t wanna stop eating, but I had no choice.
Thankfully the waiters there are very nice, so they packaged it up for me, gave me some fresh rice and even little container of peanut sauce so I could take it all home and eat it later. I was kinda wondering if maybe they thought something was wrong, since I left so fast, but they just smiled as always and said “thanks!” as I left. They’re so cute.
When I got home a few minutes later, let me tell you, walking into my room felt fantastic! As soon as I opened my bedroom door, I was met by a waft of freezing cold air. And holy crap did I need it! I sat literally right in front of my air conditioner for a while (as I am right now) and played the Sims 3 while I cooled off. As lovely as it was get Thai food, even if I couldn’t eat it all right then, the best part of the day was still to come!
The best part of the day was getting some much-needed Kitty Therapy! My brother’s girlfriend, Emily, she has two cats. Not many people know this about me, but I absolutely adore animals, especially when they’re furry and I can cuddle with them. But since my Mom’s allergic to all things furry, I haven’t had a pet in a very, very long time. I find animals relaxing, though, so for ages I’ve been wanting to cuddle up with a cute little fuzzy animal. Thanks to the likes of Cute Overload and ICanHasCheezburger.com, I’ve been craving a cuddle with a cat in particular.
Thank heavens for Emily! She said I could come over any time to cuddle with her friendly cat, Anya (her other cat, Dmitri, isn’t so cuddly…) After getting overheated today, I was in desperate need of some kitty therapy. So I went over to her place this evening while my brother was there and I got to spend an hour with the kitties! Anya sat on my lap for about 40 minutes, letting me pet her head while she sat in her little bin. She has the funniest habit – there’s this plastic bin that she adores. If you set it on the floor and tap your fingernails on it, she’ll come running, climb into the bin, and curl up all comfy as can be. Emily did that so Anya would get into the bin, then we put the bin on my lap. After a while, though, Anya got a bit toasty in her little plastic bin, so she got out after about 40 minutes. So for the last little bit we played with one of her cat toys.
All in all, it was totally awesome!!!! 😀 I think I annoyed my Mom, though, on the car ride home. I couldn’t help it! I was happy about Kitty Therapy, and when you’re happy about Kitty Therapy, you have to sing the Kitty Song! 🙂 Hehe.
So now I’m back at home, sitting in front of my air conditioner, and I’ve just finished eating my leftover Thai food. Thankfully it’s still delicious even when it’s reheated, so I’m happy. And now I have a nice dish of dairy-free coconut milk snickerdoodle ice cream to eat! So excuse me while I conclude my day of kitty awesomeness with a bit of yummy ice cream. 🙂
Big thanks to the kind folks at 4912 Thai for keeping me well fed as always, and big thanks to Emily for letting me invade her home and bogart her kitties for an hour. 🙂 Ahhhh, so awesome…
