Merry Christmas!

On Christmas night way back last year, long after the presents were unwrapped, my family gathered to watch the very last Doctor Who Christmas special starring David Tennant. We were so sad that he was leaving! We decided that we needed to somehow celebrate and commemorate our favorite Doctors, Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant. We figured the best way to do that would be to create a special Doctor Who Christmas tree.

Well, if there’s anything my family loves – apart from childish humor – it’s a good theme. Naturally, what started as a simple Doctor Who Christmas tree, turned into a whole theme! It’s like that old kid’s story, ‘If You Give a Mouse a Cookie’. If you give a Lawver a Doctor Who tree, well, then you’re gonna have to make a Doctor Who gingerbread house. And if you make a Doctor Who gingerbread house, well, then you’re gonna have to make Doctor Who Christmas stockings to hang on the mantle. And hey, before you know it, you’re surrounded by an all-out, over the top Doctor Who themed holiday spectacular! Once you get that theme ball rollin’, there’s no stopping it. It’s just too much fun to say no!

I’ve really got to get to sleep, since I’m sure my nephews – Max & Brian – are going to wake me up at an insane hour. I can’t blame them – I remember the sheer, unbridled, all-encompassing anticipation of impending gift-unwrapping chaos from when I was a kid. I sure didn’t let the adults sleep in then, so I shouldn’t expect them to let me sleep in now.

But before I drift off to sleep, I simply have to post this gallery of photographs I’ve taken thus far of my family’s 2010 Doctor Who Christmas Extravaganza! I’ve created a whole lovely photo gallery for you to explore.

And I sure hope you will explore it, because much like the Doctor, I need the help of a few faithful companions to complete an extra special project to conclude our Doctor Who Christmas Extravaganza! This project involves sending Christmas mementos to the 9th & 10th Doctors, and possibly even their companions. But I just can’t decide which mementos I should send…

If you explore the gallery, you’ll find out all the important details and how you can help contribute to this very special Doctor Who Christmas project. 🙂 So jump on in to our crazy Doctor Who Christmas and share in the joy!

Of course, the gallery is far from complete; I’m sure I’ll have plenty more to add tomorrow after all the presents are unwrapped. But for now, it’s sleepy time for me.

So until later, I hope Santa brings you everything you wished for. I hope you’re surrounded by family, friends, and everyone who loves you, either in person or in spirit. I hope your heart is filled with holiday cheer. I hope the day is magical, beautiful, heart-warming and perfect. I’ll be thinking of you all, sending you all the warm wishes my heart can muster.

    Merry Christmas!
