😀 I did it. I got a bowling ball. I feel a bit silly owning my own bowling ball, but I love it. It’s a perfect 10-pounder, and I got it out in Chantilly. I had my fingers measured and finally having a ball that fits my fingers I know will make a world of difference! First off, I have pretty small hands. You wouldn’t believe how close together the top two finger holes are. But then there’s an oddly long amount of space between those holes and the thumb hole. And yet, it fits exactly. To test it after it was drilled, the nice 20something Bowling-Store-Guy had me roll the ball out of my hand and he caught it. It slid off perfectly and felt fantastic. I cannot wait to play with it on Monday. This is my new ball, but you can’t really see the glitter in that picture. It has glitter all over it, making it sparkle, then the writing on it is green. I almost got the purple one, but the blue one makes me think of the galaxy. I don’t know what that has to do with bowling, or anything for that matter, but it was pretty so I went with it.
It was fun watching him mark it and then drill it. I only had to wait about 10 minutes and I was good to go. I didn’t get a bag for it, so I’m not sure what I’ll carry it in. All those bags were just too expensive. There’s one on bowling.com for only $16, so I may go with that. Or, if I can find an old backpack somewhere I may try that.
Steve had a great suggestion, so I’m going to name the ball. I hereby dub my ball “Bunny”. 🙂 It’ll be my good omen so I can finally beat Brandon and then he’ll have to show up to the next bowling night wearing a bunny suit. I’m determined that I will accomplish this goal before the season is over!
I got to go out to lunch to Sweetwater Tavern today as well. Yummy!! Their Tex-Mex Eggrolls are to die for, and their root beer is heavenly. If you’re in Virginia, go there now.
