I can’t believe I forgot to tell you all about my latest culinary victory! I created my own personal steak marinade and it was oh so very fabulous. Get out a tupperware container big enough for your meat and fill it with just enough soy sauce to coat the bottom. Then add: a nice coating of ground pepper, garlic, and onion powder. Throw in a palm full of minced onions, 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar, a teensy pinch of curry evenly spread, and one fourth of a cup brown sugar. Put a lid on the tupperware and shake, shake, shake. If those ingredients don’t look like they’re enough, or if that smell isn’t eating its way through your nose, throw in some more stuff of your choice. Shake some more, then put it in the fridge. I only had enough time to let it sit for 45 minutes, but it was still really lovely and flavorful. I’m sure if you left it in for, say, two hours, it’d knock your socks off (in a good way.)

I didn’t stop there, though. I even made candied baby carrots! Served that and the steak next to some lovely basmati rice. To top it all off, smarvelous french bread, but I didn’t bake that. (I can only do so much on limited time.) It was exquisite. I’ve decided marinating steak is my new favorite thing. It’s so fun to whip up new things. Thankfully I have two more huge steaks in the freezer. 🙂 Can you guess what I’m having for dinner tomorrow?

My bank is so stupid. It took twenty-five minutes to cash one check and make three deposits. Twenty-five minutes!! I don
