I had to skip going to church this morning, it just wasn’t possible for me to wake up at 8:00am. I was far too tired and sore for that.
Although I’m still a bit sore it’s still no where near as bad as I thought it would be. I can at least walk, despite the muscles along the back of my legs being extremely tight. So I suppose it’s more like a waddle. 🙂 Beyond being sore, I think I exhausted my brain. I’ve been trying to get a few web photo galleries up for days now and it’s just not working. I’ve been trying to design them so they look more interesting than the regular Adobe photoshop galleries, but I just can’t get it to work. It’s entirely frustrating. Stupid designer’s block.
After wasting two hours on that project, I decided to take a break and play the Sims. Huh. Yeah. That was a *great* idea. It only frustrated me more because I spent an hour trying to build a stupid house and none of them worked. I finally just gave up and tried to do nothing. *That* I could do. 🙂 I talked to Paul for a while, played Solitaire, and did a few little things for my Mother. She wanted me to scan some Limoges plates for some project.
Thankfully, though, inspiration struck. Not design-wise, I still have designer’s block. But I remembered a project I could actually work on that had been left by the wayside a few months ago. My special Join Me project! I’ve been wanting to create my own Joinee website, a sort of headquarters for my efforts to recruit more American Joinees. Not that other Joinees aren’t good or anything, I just don’t think there are enough American Joinees yet. I was able to flesh out the site a little, put some information up on the various pages, and add a few more products to the Joinee page’s CafePress store. It’s not entirely finished yet, but it’s at least presentable now.
So, drum roll, please…. Ta da! It’s the first page I’ve ever designed in pink, and honestly, I’m very proud of it. And it makes me giggle. I created the design a few months ago and I still think it’s funny. It was a challenge – I was going to prove to myself I could design a website that wasn’t blue, so I went with something unexpected. Pink is definitely unexpected for me. I’m not a pink person, but it goes along with the theme in this case. 🙂 Be sure to sign my guestbook and let me know what you think.
