You can pretty much expect my blogs to be relatively short until just after Christmas, most likely. Now that I’ve said that, of course, I may prove myself wrong. But lately I’ve been spending my days so incredibly busy that I barely have time to do anything on the computer, but I’m always busy with one or two activities. So it’s not like a kind of busy that generates a great, interesting blog. It’s just, “I did this today. And it took all day.” Obviously, that limits time, and I think it gets boring. Plus, with this kind of busy it doesn’t give me much time to get all introspective, thus further limiting each nightly blog’s potential. It’s quite a quandry, but rest assured that after all this crazy holiday spirit crap is out of the way things will get back to normal. 🙂

That said. I cleaned my room today. And it took all day. 🙂 Well, that wasn’t all I did, but that was the most of it. I had a lot of cleaning to do because it’s very hard to put things away in my room, at times even treacherous, so when I get sick I don’t bother. I’ve been sick for, what, three months now? You guessed it, my room was a mass of “organized” piles. I knew where things were, sort of, but I’d had enough of it. I put everything away as best I could, and while it still looks like I have too much stuff in this room, it’s only because I really do have too much stuff in this room. So I’ve done all I can, can’t do anything else to it. Except maybe not buy any more stuff. I can handle that, but hey, Christmas is coming up. 🙂 I’m bound to get even more stuff. But hopefully it’ll be a bunch of relatively little things.

Apart from cleaning my room, I wrapped a *ton* of presents for my Mom. In the midst of cleaning I also downloaded quite a few songs and a Daria special that I still haven’t gotten to watch. My DSL’s being disconnected in about thirty days so I’ve been trying to cram as much downloading in as I can. I think my favorite download of the day has to be “Headwires” by the Foo Fighters. I haven’t been much of a Foo Fighters fan. In fact, I can’t even recognize any of their songs. But this one’s actually kind of… alternacute. Don’t ask me to define that, it is what it is.

I also had several TV shows playing in the background as I cleaned. I love having TV shows saved on my computer. 🙂 It’s great to hear “This is BBC America” in the background. Then I can laugh and go, “HaHA, no it’s not.” Okay, so I didn’t really do that, but I did think it. (See what cleaning does to me?)

The list of activities doesn’t end there. I had to go to a Christmas party at my church. Ugh. I hate those things. I don’t fit in on Sundays, so why should I go out of my way to not fit in on Saturdays as well? I wouldn’t have gone except it was required of me. That was one of the many choir performances I had to do. I was part of a quartet of wandering carollers. We sounded rather good, considering we never practiced.

But right *before* the party we also had to practice for the final choir performance which goes down tomorrow. (Choirs sound so much more exciting when you talk about them “going down.” Otherwise it all sounds so… dull. Especially the third or fourth time it’s mentioned.) Unfortunately, this practice session didn’t have much of a turn out, and various members of the choir had to leave periodically. At the end of it, I was the only soprano against three basses, one tenor, and three altos. Not only that, I had to perform a song that I think is really annoying cause it goes up so dang high. I didn’t like that at all.

At least we’re performing tomorrow so I can get all this choiring out of my system. (Yes, I know that’s not a real word. But I like it.) Then, on Monday, the parties begin. My brother Tim and his wife Monica are flying in from California for the holidays. That’ll be great fun since I haven’t seen them in quite some time, and honestly, they’re just very cool people.

But now I think I might actually *gasp* take a break for the first time today! I only have a few minutes so I can’t get wrapped up in IM conversations (can you believe it? I don’t think I’ve IMed anybody today. That has to be some kind of strange record for me.) I think I’ll watch the beginning of that Daria special I downloaded, munch on a few ritz crackers, and then head to bed. Good night!
