Dance with me, make me sway; Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore, hold me close, sway me more.
I’ve had that song stuck in my head all day.
There are certainly quite a few things to report today, but I’m a bit tired so it may not be delivered as happily as I would have hoped. Sorry, bad combination of not feeling well and not having any more little white powdered sugar donuts. Mmm, do love those little white donuts…
Yesterday evening was a momentous occasion. Why? Because I registered the domain name for Prophet, Incorporated. Now that I’m all official I figured I had better buy some domain names to make it all official in the geek world. So I snagged prophet-inc.com, prophet-inc.org, and prophet-inc.net. Once I have a server, I’ll point them all to it. But for right now, they don’t go anywhere. I was hoping I’d still have access to my registrar’s stealth forwarding service, but apparently they discontinued that. Oh well, it was still dirt cheap. Too bad, though, since I already had a place holder all set up. Check it out, it’s rather freakish, in a good way (at least I think so).
In other news, I spent the day watching movies because of the aforementioned not-feeling-well. This afternoon I watched ‘Swiss Family Robinson’ for – can you believe it – the very first time. It was fun, although by about half-way through the movie I felt like making sure they didn’t rescue Francis from one of his many animal antics. I mean really, how many times can that idiot of a kid get tied to an animal and *still* survive? 🙂
I also watched a film called ‘The Mystic Masseur’ about Indians (as in, from India, not American Indians or whatever other sort that might confuse you) living on Trinidad. It was… long. Over two hours long. I was itching for it to be over, but I just couldn’t turn it off for some reason. At least I got a lot of exercise done whilst watching it. I’ve started doing leg-lifts again while watching TV, and after only about two weeks of dedicating myself to it, I’m already noticing a difference. My thighs and hips – which I have been concentrating on most – are slimming down at a rather amazing rate. I’m very happy about that. Tonight I went a step further (I’ve been trying to very gradually ease myself back into a more substantial work-out) – I added two more variations on the leg-lift and started using the exercise bike again. I’m going to get back into shape, dang it.
After watching the movie about the Indians, I finally figured out how to wear the beautiful sari that Sujit got for me in India. It’s an amazing burgundy sari with gold embroidery. I absolutely love it, but being the silly little white girl that I am, I hadn’t figured out how to wear it. After watching the movie I got a pretty good idea of how to wrap it, and then I realized, duh, I could probably look it up online. So I did. I think I got it wrapped perfectly, except for one small detail – I did it backwards. It was supposed to go left-to-right, and I accidentally did it right-to-left. Okay, so I wasn’t paying attention, but I sure felt pretty. 🙂 I tried to take pictures, but of course, the nature of self-photography doesn’t allow for much else besides pictures of my face. I’m not too disappointed, though, because I finally got some portraits taken that look pretty good considering my face is still shaped kind of funny from all the trauma of passing out. I swear there’s something wrong with my right cheekbone – it’s making my eye look funny. But anyway, want to see? I uploaded three: one, two, and three. Nothing really spectacular, just fun stuff.
Ugh, my head hurts. And what’s worse, I’m bored. And it’s a kind of boredom that can’t be soothed because of the headache. I tried to alleviate the boredom this afternoon by studying German for a while, but that didn’t last too long. After a while I completely lost my accent and everything sounded Italian. That’s what headaches, can do, I suppose… in the twilight zone. How in the name of flying monkeys can German come out sounding Italian? Mein Italiener konnte deutsch jetzt klingen. Wer wu
*Blinks* Hmm, something strange happened there. Either there was a ‘glitch in the matrix’, or it managed to post itself twice. Oh well, why not. Heather, the sari photos are beautiful! Especially the second.
Congrats on the domain name. How odd to think that the beloved DP is now ‘official’ in that way. *Smiles contentedly, and awards Webmistress Meg a wicker basket full of little white doughnuts*
You need to host the sari pics on your own server. after like 5 people in an hour look at them on geocities, you run over your alloted bandwidth and no one else can see them.
I was going to point out that I can’t view the pictures but I see that point has already been mentioned.
The placeholder for the new site was quite…spooky. I hope the other pictures are less hollow and ghostlike. I’m not going to be able to sleep tonight.

Great comments guys. Peter FDA
