Mmm, Holidays Heather-Style. 🙂 What does that mean? That means the morning after four straight hours of dancing is spent curled up under a bunch of flannel comforters, sleeping until indecent hours of the day. It was delightful, though. I woke up naturally, of my own accord, staring up at the ceiling with a contented smile on my face. Ultimately, I rolled over to look at the clock and realized that it was 3:30 in the afternoon. Most certainly indecent, and most certainly wonderful.
After pulling myself out of bed, I sat at my computer still decked out in my fluffy fleece pajamas, and talked to Mike and Sujit. Finally at 4:30 I realized how hungry I was, but my timing was perfect – right as I was pulling out the Frosted Flakes, my parents got back home from shopping. They decided we all needed to go out to dinner to celebrate New Years and so Mom wouldn’t have to cook. I’m very pleased to say that my first meal of the new year was at Sweetwater Tavern, complete with lots of ozzie rolls, the world’s most perfect cheeseburger, and two tall glasses of root beer.
After that, we all went to Target to go shopping. Now we’re back at home and the movie we’ve been watching is about to end – “Young At Heart” starring Doris Day and Frank Sinatra. I’ve already seen it once or twice. Good movie, the whole situation kind of reminds me of someone I know. I’m usually not too much of a Doris Day fan, but I recorded it on Tivo because it has Frank Sinatra in it. Turns out it’s actually a cute movie, and not as chauvinistic as the other few Doris Day movies I’ve seen. Man, I saw one once that was nothing but, “*gasp*! Doris Day’s working outside the home?! She’s *EVIL*!” I hated that.
Anyway. 🙂 It’s time to watch a Mythbusters marathon now. Hooray! 🙂 Happy New Year!
That’s the thing about Doris Day movies: Some are good, but some are full of pigs. Ya gotta watch for that. She had a great voice, though, and was pretty funny.
I did a search for “talk about sports” as I am looking for information on where Halifax Mooseheads players lived and the history about them and their culture. We have and have had hockey players from all over the world play with the local hockey team here in halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I am researching anyone who has played in the past and the present for the Halifax Mooseheads hockey team. As I was web surfing, going from one topic to the next I came upon your website as I was researching “my first blog”, as I thought about creating a blog on the Halifax Mooseheads hockey team. Anyways I read about this being your “first blog of 2004” and read your whole blog to see if you had any information on how to operate a blog. I did find some of your information usefull and I thank you.
I will be back to see if you added anything new that might help me as you seem to know about what you are talking about.
Anyways, good luck with your website.
Take care and God Bless
