Six days. Six days without blogging. Six days without much sleep. Six days spent in and out of the hospital. Nothing serious, mind you. In fact, the first trip might have been enough, but that doctor was really vague and argued with me and wouldn’t agree to have tests done soon enough. She said I had to wait two weeks to find out what was wrong with my stomach, two weeks of sitting through this horrible nasty pain in my gut. That was nice of her, don’t you think?
Ignoring that doctor, the next day I couldn’t take it anymore, so I went to the Emergency Room. I’d never really planned a trip to the ER before, but thankfully I took Chris’ advice and got something a bit lighter and saner to read than Kafka – the day before I bought ‘Driven‘, all about the history and legacy of BMW. I took my book and went to the hospital but they were so efficient I didn’t need the book that much at all. Sure, I was still there for about four hours, but they were an efficient four hours. They gave me some pain killers, they tested out my stomach, they gave me the ultrasound my other doctor was going to delay, and they set my mind at ease. They’re pretty sure my pain is just from an inevitable problem with my gall bladder, so all will be well once I can schedule a time to have it taken out. I’m very much relieved it’s something simple.
But it’s still a pain in the you-know-what. I’m not sleeping well again, nothing’s really taking care of the pain, and I haven’t gotten all that much done in the past few days. Well, that’s not true, I just can’t tell you what all I did – top secret business stuff, you know. More about that later, when my lips are unsealed.
Let’s see, I saw ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ this week – that was fun. I’ve eaten lots of bland cereal – that wasn’t so fun. I spent the day yesterday driving around with Mike and some of his friends – that was both fun and not fun, depending on the time of day. And tomorrow I get to go grocery shopping – that will be most decidedly not fun. (Grocery shopping is one of my major pet peeves.) There isn’t much else to report really, except that I’ve spent today chilling, I’ve listened to a ton of Antonio Carlos Jobim (hence the blog title), and now I’m hoping that I’m tired enough to fall asleep. Sorry this wasn’t so entertaining – I feel bad, there are some things I’d like to blog about, but I can’t yet. *sigh* Guess that means you’ll just have to wait, and I’ll just have to try to keep my lip buttoned.
