In the wise words of Irving Berlin, “Ooooh, I’ve got plenty to be thankful for!” (Yeah, you know I’ve had that song stuck in my head all day. No Thanksgiving’s complete without Bing Crosby crooning at you 24/7.) I thought about writing something terribly sweet and heart-warming, but then I thought, naaah. I’d rather just be totally ego-centric and write a completely random list of things that have been popping into my head whilst chopping vegetables, lounging around, and eating my annual portion of potato chips.

Here we go, in no particular order, here’s what I’m thankful for:

    – My relative health. As sucky as my body’s behaving at the moment, it could always be worse, right?

    – It snowed last night! Hooray! It didn’t stick, but it sure was pretty driving through it. 🙂

    – Sleeping under a huge pile of flannel sheets and thick heavy comforters. The only thing that could possibly make that any better would be a pet man under there too. *sigh* Why doesn’t PetSmart sell those?

    – Chocolate. ‘Nuff said.

    – My car. Yes, as materialistic as that is, I am indeed thankful for my car. I love her to death, even though she is misbehaving at the moment. And if that makes me pathetic, then slap a nametag on me and call me Miss Pathetic, cause I love my baby anyway.

    – In all seriousness, my lovely eclectic bunch of friends. You all know who you are. 🙂 I love you, and dare I say it, I even love you more than my car.

    – Sujit, David, Alastair, Andrew, and a few more who don’t like having their names published on my blog. You guys know I love you, but it’s nice to say it anyway, just to make sure. You keep me going in the right direction, you cheer me up when nothing else will, and you’re always there no matter what. Your advice is always a blessing, and your presence is always treasured. And it always will be.

    – My brothers. You guys rock. It’s all your fault that I’m so much more comfortable hanging around men.

    – Ferrari. As silly as this may sound, I’m serious. They’ve been great to me, especially all the guys over at Ferrari of Washington. They’ve let me play, drool, and generally hang around for two years. They let me drive, and they let me set my current land speed record. But as if that weren’t enough, they’ve also inspired me to do something great. Mmm, high speeds and inspiration, nothin’ better than that. 🙂

    – My Doctors. They put in extra hours and endless dedication, and for that I’m truly thankful.

    – My parents, cause really, what kind of child would I be if I weren’t thankful for all they do?

    – My surrogate family in Utah: Kelley, Ted, Mindy, and Bubba. You took me in for far too long and made me feel right at home. I’ll always love you for that.

    – All the kids who have ever helped out with the Daily Prophet. You’ve really changed my life by making me grow up.

    – You lovely, beautiful, charming people who read my blog. I don’t know all of you, but oh how I wish I could, because you clearly kick butt.

    Enjoy the turkey, folks! 🙂
