I know I need to blog, but I don’t exactly know what to say. I’m going in for another round of surgery tomorrow. I’m supposed to be at the surgery center in downtown DC at 9AM. Not sure when exactly I’ll be going under and they’ll be getting to work on me, but oh well.

I wish I could think of something eloquent and meaningful to say, but nothing’s coming to mind. I wasn’t nervous at all until around 7:00 this evening. I don’t know what caused it, it just hit me out of the blue. Thankfully my friends Steve and Jay helped to ease the nervousness a little, but I still can’t quite help it. I guess it’s better than not feeling anything, but still.

I also feel a bit stupid that I forgot to eat before the midnight. I’m not allowed to eat anything now, and I’m already feeling it. What I wouldn’t give to turn back the clock and have a bowl of cheerios…

Okay, happy thoughts. I got an email from someone at McCormick & Schmick’s, thanking me for the review of the restaurant I posted a few weeks ago. They were kind enough to answer one of my worries from the entry by informing me that they are not a chain at all. In fact, each restaurant has their own head chef who plans each and every menu themselves. Isn’t that exciting? It should be; that is, it would be if more people realized just how many restaurant “chefs” these days are really just a line of assembly workers who arrange reheated frozen food according to the pictures hanging on the kitchen walls (a la Olive Garden.) The first time I heard that it was positively sickening, both literally and figuratively. I couldn’t stomach paying upwards of $15 for a glorified TV dinner, and thus my pickiness in restaurants was born. The fact that McCormick & Schmick’s actually goes to the trouble of hiring real chefs who prepare real fresh food makes me incredibly happy. Same goes for their sister restaurant, the M&S Grill. Fine, fine stuff. I’ll definitely be going back there soon, as should you. It’s nummy.

One final happy thought, then I have to go to bed. My old bloggy guestbook was being overrun by spam whilst deleting all the older worthwhile entries, and that was annoying me. So I deleted that useless guestbook and have replaced it with something infinitely more fun. It’s a new and improved GuestMap! Now not only can you leave me a nice little message, but you can also put yourself on the map, literally. Come on, leave me a note, declare yourself, it’ll be fun, I promise!

Alright, enough delaying the inevitable. I have to sleep now, so that I can get up in a few hours and be cut into. What fun. Here’s to hoping your Monday will be more enjoyable than mine. Wish me luck!
