KIMI RAIKKONEN WON THE DRIVER’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! AND FERRARI WON THE CONSTRUCTOR’S CHAMPIONSHIP! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahh, at long last, all is right in the world of Formula 1! Stepneygate is behind us, the cheaters were vanquished, and those that were victimized ended up winning anyway. Even in stolen cars, McLaren couldn’t beat the Italian prancing horse! On a day like today, makes me proud to be a Ferraristi! Okay, so I’m always proud to be a Ferraristi, but I don’t care, THEY WON! I’M SO HAPPY I’M WRITING ALL IN CAPS! I NEVER EVER DO THAT! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Hehehehe… |
Okay, so I’m a couple days late with this excitement, but I couldn’t watch the race on Sunday, and then I had a doctors appointment yesterday and got some bad news, so I ended up falling asleep early (I don’t know why, but lately, when i get depressed, I sleep. I guess it’s rather helpful, but it’s strange.) Anyway, this isn’t a blog post for bad news and sadness, this is a happy day! Happy posts only!!
| So obviously, I’m totally thrilled for Ferrari and I’m just as thrilled for Raikkonen. He had huge shoes to fill when Schumacher left. HIs shadow still remained, but Raikkonen – and Massa – lived up to it. Sure, at the beginning of the season I was hoping Massa would win the championship, since he’s my favorite driver, but I truly admire the sense of teamwork and loyalty shared between the two drivers. Either one of them would have helped the either if their places had been reversed, I’m confident of that. Massa sacrificed a race he wanted so badly, literally his hometown race in Brazil, having grown up only a short distance from the track in Sao Paolo. But he supported his teammate, he took the bullet for Ferrari, and because of that loyalty, Ferrari walked away with both trophies, and rightly so. Raikkonen won more races this year than any other driver. He’s a brilliant driver, and an excellent sportsman. And after seeing him immediately hug Massa at the end of the race, and thank him during the final press conference, I’d say he’s finally grown into being a gentleman as well. |

Yay! So all is right in that part of the world. It’s good to see cheaters get what they deserve, and it’s brilliant to see the most deserving man win. That’s how all sports should be, because that’s how life should be. Whether it’s a racetrack, or in the workplace, or in the classroom, that’s how it should be. And it’s great to see a testament to that; even against the toughest odds, when only a miracle will give you the victory you deserve, the clouds part, that door opens, and at long last, the victory is yours.
My most heartfelt congratulations to Kimi, to Ferrari, and all I can say is I really wish I could be there to celebrate with everyone. But my heart’s with you, and hopefully before too long, I’ll be there in the flesh… next year when Massa wins the championship. 🙂
