Thanks to the assistance of an anonymous source within China – who has put him or herself at significant risk – a new Chinese government document has come forth, this time illustrating the birth date of Jiang Yuyuan. This document, which comes from the Zhejiang Provincial Sports Administration, clearly lists Jiang’s birth date as 10/1/1993, which would make her only 15 years old.

Jiang Yuyuan     What makes this particular document so spectacular is that – unlike the previous documents found on the web through search engine caches – this particular document has yet to be deleted from an official Chinese government web server. A brave anonymous citizen of China forwarded the link to this document to Mike Walker, who then forwarded the link to several people, requesting they provide mirrors to the document as soon as possible, in preparation for the announcement of this latest find. I’m honored to have been one of those requested mirrors, and now that Mike has announced this find on his blog, I’m pleased to present my own mirror of the file in question.

Now begins the countdown to see just how quickly the Chinese government attempts to censor and suppress this vital piece of information.

And of course, this is yet another chapter in the long-running countdown to see if the FIG and the IOC will actually uphold and enforce their own rules. So much has been said lately about not wanting to offend China. Honestly, I don’t see why they’re so worried about offending China, when what they should be worried about is offending the rest of the world, whilst validating China’s systematic physical and emotional abuse of its underage athletes, as well as substantiating China’s unending suppression of information and censorship not only of its own people, but the rest of the world as well. I, for one, am not very pleased with China’s arrogance in this situation. The fact that they think they can pull the wool over the eyes of the rest of the world is disgusting, and if the FIG and the IOC refuse to fulfill their duties as dictated by their own rules, they will be party to that deplorable behavior. Let’s hope the discovery of this most recent in a long line of condemning documents will further encourage the FIG and the IOC to do the right thing, uphold the truth, and enforce their own rules.
