Someone you’ve probably never heard of, but who has affected the lives of absolutely every single person living on this planet, has died today. And he will be sorely, sorely missed.

Norman Borlaug was an amazing man. He did so much that it’s nearly impossible to count all of the amazing ways in which this one man has completely transformed our entire planet. He died today at his home in Texas at the age of 95. He saved billions of lives, revolutionized the way we feed our families and the world, and yet most of the world doesn’t even know his name or recognize his kindly face.

I wrote a blog about him almost exactly a year ago. Check it out, learn a little something about this unsung hero and say a prayer for his family.

I’ll miss you, Mr. Borlaug. But it’s good to know that you’re up in heaven, celebrating with the billions of people whose lives you enriched, simply by contributing in every way you could; by being you. You lived a long and remarkable life. You’ll certainly be remembered with respect & love by all who knew of your great accomplishments and unparalleled contribution to this world. God bless you, Norman, may you rest in peace and happiness, content in the knowledge that the world is now infinitely better simply because you were born.
