I’ve got a headache. I can’t sleep. And I have to wake up in precisely four hours.
On a happier note, I conquered two scenarios in Roller Coaster Tycoon this evening. 🙂 I had planned on spending my time more productively, i.e. packing for my Thursday departure for San Francisco. But alas, all of my clothes still needed to dry after coming out of the washer, so there was no point in packing. I pulled together what I could (which wasn’t much), then decided I needed to relax. I was a tad bit stressed after calling my Bishop – my church congregation’s leader – and explaining that I’d be switching to another congregation. He was nice about it and all, it was still just troublesome to have to go through the whole story again. And you know what’s even weirder? One of the girls who was carrying on this conversation about how awful home-schoolers are, she was home-schooled as well. The whole situation is just too strange.
I have to wake up early tomorrow because I have an appointment with my doctor. Nothing serious, just some laser stuff to take care of a burst blood vessel on my face. It’s just along my jaw, and it’s really not too big or nasty or anything. Just a little red dot. Normally I’d leave it alone, but it’s so easy to take care of it, so why not? It’s just one little minor annoyance that I can actually do something about, so I’m gonna do it. Just one zap and it’s all gone. Ah, gotta love the marvels of modern medicine. I can’t wait till the days when medicine’s like Star Trek, and all the doctors have to do is wave a little wand over you and everything’s taken care of. I’d love it if they could get rid of scars, too, that would rock.
You know what’s a happy thought? Men are funny. In a good way, I mean. After posting my rather ranty blog last night, three very nice men posted comments to make me feel better. I just love that about men. They can be so nice sometimes, when that whole cute protective instinct kicks in.
I went to Sam’s Club and had some of my pictures from Berlin printed so I could send them to my Grandmother. You know, I really wish I had gotten better pictures, but we were just moving so fast and had so little time that I kept forgetting to pull out my camera. And when I did pull out my camera, I didn’t feel like standing still for ages trying to fiddle with the thing to make sure it would work right. Therefore, a lot of the pictures taken at night are really blurry. I messed something up. Oh well. Now I just have to hope that Dean got some good pictures on the few occasions when he remembered to bring his camera at all. I should have just handed the camera over to him, since he’s the photographer and such.
Oh yeah, that reminds me, I need to email him. And Translating Drew, too. Hmm. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep… And miles to go before I sleep…
Hey what’s up? Aaron Berman just interviewed me about a real techie thing, so I went to his website to read some other articles he’s published to get a feel for his writing and stumbled upon the article you were mentioned in. I have to admit it, I went to your blog and read through your entire questionnaire thingie in the about me section lol.
Oh, and if you ever need help with MovableType, I’ve worked with it for awhile and could (hopefully) answer any questions you may have 🙂
Cool site! -Mike
Digital cameras are extremely hard to take good pictures with at night. The photosensor needs a long exposure time, so you have to hold REALLY still. I generally turn the flash off, too, if I’m shooting something more than a few feet away, which means the shutter stays open even longer. I need an ultra light-weight collapsable tripod, or something.
Great comments guys. Peter FDA
