Several months ago I happened across an mp3 in my collection that was rather amusing. It’s one of those old 50’s-esque story-songs that’s just so campy it’s funny. This particular song, “North to Alaska” by Johnny Horton, was quite amusing and I had just asumed that my brother Steven had downloaded it after hearing it on some TV show. This made sense, since at the time we were both enthralled with the show “Due South,” and it seemed like something that might crop up on a show like that.

So I never bothered to ask him when or how he got it, I just listened to it from time to time and smiled as I sang along. As we were driving around recently, it came up on the mp3 player in the car and I started singing along. Suddenly, Steven started laughing and said, “Where the heck did you get this?

There followed an interesting conversation where, of course, I responded, “Me? I thought *you* downloaded it.” He’d obviously never even heard the song before, and I certainly don’t remember downloading it. I don’t even know who Johnny Horton is! Somehow this mp3 found itself a home on my computer. How? I don’t know. I’m somewhat glad it did, since it’s a cute song that I’ve enjoyed laughing at, but now I’m really curious where it came from. I’ve gone back through the mp3 collections I’ve collected from a few friends over the past year, but it’s not from any of those. I thought perhaps it was from this guy I met back in January, but it can’t have been. Just not his kind of music.

Guess what I bought today! The special extended edition of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers!! I’m staying up tonight to watch it, complete with the extra 43 minutes. I may not watch all of tonight, since I do have to wake up at a semi-reasonable time tomorrow. You know, church and all that stuff. I did manage to sleep in a bit this morning, which is why I’m not tired yet. I didn’t get as much sleep as I had hoped, though, because I kept waking up from some pretty creepy dreams. Nothing involving demons or ghosts or blood and gore. Nope, know what it was that scared me?

Donald Trump.

I had two dreams last night, interrupted by waking up even, that involved Donald Trump and I working on some kind of business deal, but he wouldn’t stop flirting with me. At one point, he just started hugging me and I couldn’t get him to quit. I woke up in a bit of a fright and it still felt like he was hugging me. Turned out my blankets were just a bit twisted up, but it was still scary as all get out. Now if I ever meet Donald Trump I’m going to be seriously frightened of him. The odd part is he didn’t even try anything lascivious, he just hugged me. Strange how that’s scary enough to wake me up.

Ugh, I hate this part of the movie! It’s the Dead Marshes. Eugh. Nicely done and all, but eugh.

Back to the movie now. 🙂
