I think I’m having some kind of identity crisis. That, or I’ve been possessed by a giggly blonde 12-year-old girl. Why do I say this? Lots of reasons, i.e. I’ve been extremely forgetful lately, everything’s a whole lot funnier than it should be, I’ve had intense urges to buy things that are both pink and sparkly (such as bright pink sapphires off ebay), and whilst trying to create some artwork for a political satire, I ended up creating this. I’m rather scared, honestly. Aren’t you? I mean, look at that! It’s painfully cute.

Now, I have to admit, I didn’t draw the little cartoony animals – my brother Steven drew those for me about three years ago. I’ve kept them ever since cause they’re just dang cute and they have a special meaning for me. The tiger’s named Lung Fu, and the dragon is Mo Tai – that’s Chinese for “Dragon” and “Tiger” (just reversed, meaning the Tiger’s name is “Dragon” and vice versa.) I learned the phrase “dragontiger” from a book written by Jackie Chan – it’s an old Chinese term of endearment and respect for someone who “laughs at the world before eating it whole.” It’s about power, strength, confidence, and resilience. Steven and I came up with those two cute little guys to exemplify those traits, and to be the mascots for my design company website. One thing led to another and I never got around to designing the website for them. Whoops. I kept them as desktop background characters, icons, that sort of thing. Something made me think of them tonight and somehow they ended up on what was supposed to be a political satire page. Oh well. I guess I’m just not in the mood to be sarcastically serious tonight.

Actually, it’s morning now, isn’t it? I can’t sleep. I bit down on some chicken a bit too hard a few days ago and now my jaw is just killing me. I’ve taken a percocet, but it’s not doing much besides making my stomach churn. Mouth still hurts, but now I have a tummy ache and my head’s swimming. *sigh*

On a happier note, business is going well. Other than making sickeningly cute pages, I honestly have been getting a lot done. That’s what staying up past midnight every night will do a for a person. 🙂 Oh, that, and watching way too many episodes of Dharma & Greg.

I think I’m going to go and lay down again and see if I can’t fall asleep. I already tried that for a few hours earlier tonight and sure enough, my mind wouldn’t shut up. I hate when that happens.
