I like to think I am a reasonable person. I like to think I can compromise when the occasion calls for it. I like to think I can be calm and collected even in tense, uncomfortable business situations. But if there is one thing I know about myself it’s that I can’t stand idly by while someone’s getting away with something dirty. Especially not when someone’s getting away with something dirty they did to me.
I tried to be pleasant, I tried to be reasonable, I tried to be accomodating, but nothing’s working out with the Elie Elie Salon that so badly butchered my hair last week. A promise one night, the next unreasonable demands, the next insults and threats. It’s just not fun and I simply can’t deal with them anymore. After being jerked this way and that, I’ve had enough playing Ms Nice Lady.
My stomach won’t really let me get into the details at the moment. It’s been a long day full of medical tests and terse phone calls. But suffice it to say, after the disappointment that is Elie Elie’s customer service, I’ve done my research. I’m not the only disgruntled ex-client they’ve had in the past few years. I’m not the only person who was over-charged or whose head they mutilated. And dang it, I’m still mad as hell that Melissa (the stylist) wasn’t even certified.
That’s why I’m asking a favor from all you curly girls out there in the Washington area. Have you had your hair cut by anyone at the Elie Elie Salon in McLean, VA any time in the past year? Were you over-charged? Was your hair mutilated, miscut, or not at all what you asked for? Have you been insulted, threatened, or ignored by their staff? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, I implore you to email me and tell me your story. If you haven’t been to Elie Elie, but have ever felt the disappointment of a hideous haircut, please link to this blog entry to help spread the word. Please, this is important, together maybe we can do something about this. Can’t tell you exactly why it’s so important at the moment, but trust me.
Poor customer service really is a travesty. Fraud, on the other hand, is inexcusable. And just as in the past, I’m not going to lay down and let anyone run over me. Welcome to Operation Curlygate.
You know, there’s a perfectly wonderful place just across the street from you. My wife and I have both been going over there for years and the people are awesome…not its not a Hair Cuttery-like place.
Did you ever find a great place in DC for curly hair? Are you still interested in a Elie Elie story?
