Have you ever had one of those moments where your point of view is instantly changed? It feels as if you’re lifted out of your skin and you look down on your life as if it were that of a stranger’s? In one disorienting flash, everything seems foreign, strange, and new. That’s what happened to me the other night and – unfortunately – it struck after a long day when I wasn’t in the best of moods. But after a good long think and quite a bit of sleep, I’ve been able to take that new point of view and do something constructive with it. That said, I present exactly what the hell I am doing. I don’t expect anyone but me to get anything out of this, but I can’t leave the last post unanswered.

– I am the founder, owner, and President of an innovative and internationally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization, dedicated to encouraging children everywhere to take control of their own education, their own future. By molding the Internet to fit within any form of classroom – be it public, private, or at home – children will learn how best to communicate their thoughts, ideas, and emotions. Through greater communication comes greater understanding, acceptance, and success. I have already tutored nearly 400 children worldwide, and soon, my program will tutor literally countless others.

– I am creating one of the first free online archives of centuries old steel-plate and wood print engravings. This will connect with the aforementioned non-profit program, inspiring children to create stories of their own based on these antique works of art. It will also be provided free of charge to art historians who may not have access to this disappearing artform. Using the Internet, I will be preserving history.

– I am an advocate for the hundreds of individuals who, like me, have lost a toe or two to disease or accident. I have taken what was a very painful and traumatic experience and transformed it into a tool to encourage and uplift others.

– I am in love with automobiles, but much to my despair, what I love causes 41,000 people to lose their lives every year. Unfortunately not many people recognize the danger associated with the cars they drive day in and day out and therefore act carelessly. They allow themselves to become distracted behind the wheel, they use their vehicles to show off, they often unwittingly show a complete lack of respect for the lives of their fellow human beings. I aim to put a stop to this irresponsibility and disrespect. God willing, I will hopefully cut that death rate in half over the next five to ten years. People needn’t die due to carelessness.

– I am a sufferer of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I will most likely carry this with me for the rest of my life. But it does not have to be an hinderance, rather it can be a strength. I can continue a project I began many years ago to raise awareness of this highly prevalent disorder and hopefully bring comfort and solace to other sufferers.

– I am a sister, a daughter, an Aunt, a friend; a woman. And I know I’m doing alright by the life that was given to me.
