There’s a reason for my tardiness, really there is. In my last post I referenced an impending business trip. That trip was only supposed to last nine days. Things happened, stuff led to other stuff, and I ended up staying there for three weeks.
I suppose the blog puritans out there may decry me for not posting whilst in Utah. I was too busy. And when I wasn’t busy, I got sick (who knew? Turns out I’m allergic to mushrooms. [The eating kind; don’t worry, I didn’t find some underground magic Mormon mushroom club out in Happy Valley.])
I guess I have a ton of things I should report on. But I’m still tired, I can’t really talk about most of what happened (business stuff), and I have a lot of other stuff to get to, so I’ll give you a list of the stuff I did. Hey, I know! Rather than give you the stories on everything, let’s have a contest. I’ll put up this list of things I did, then you can vote for which ones you want to hear about. Vote for two things on the list, and whichever two win, I’ll explain with great hyperbole and laughter. Sound good? Now, this will only work if you participate, so read, vote, and be happy!
1 – I was driven around in a vintage Porsche 356 Speedster by a millionaire.
2 – I went to a car show with a racecar driver, a racecar builder, and her husband.
3 – I went to Temple Square. A lot.
4 – I ate the most amazing beef I’ve ever tasted, and washed it down with raspberry limeade.
5 – I watched the first half of the first season of Lost on an incredibly impressive home theater system.
6 – I met with my production partner and the cameraman.
7 – I spent ages trying to track down two other millionaires, but as of yet to no avail.
8 – I went on a fabulous roadtrip through Lehi, Moroni, and Nephi, in order to get to Ephraim. Yeah, that makes sense.
9 – I got to meet one of my favorite and coolest Internet friends, Erick.
10 – I took way, way, way too many pictures (most of which will be online soon, once I get off my lazy butt.)
11 – I got to see something I’ve been dying to see for years, and it was ten times more amazing than I thought it would be: the Spiral Jetty.
12 – I came, I saw, I conquered. Oh wait, that was Caesar.
13 – I met with a guy who owns several BMW racecars, and I got to drool all over his E36 M3. Mmmmmm. Heaven. It looked like my baby’s big, big, big suped up brother.
14 – I went to a Luau and got to see Fire Dancers!
15 – The family I stayed with was nice enough to let me keep extending my trip. They rock.
16 – I went on an impromptu tour of the law school at BYU and met one of the deans and a ton of professors, one of whom gave me presents. I knew I liked Germans.
17 – I spent quite a bit of time with my friends Billy, Blair, Jon, Bubba, Mindy, Kelley, Rob, Tracy, Dave, and so on and so forth.
18 – I flew home on a direct flight and spent a good portion of it talking to a sweet old guy from London.
I feel like there’s more I’m forgetting to include, so I’ll add it later if it comes to mind. Until then, vote, have fun, and I’ll post a bigger report later.
But until then, I feel I should warn you: I’m leaving town again. 🙂 My friend Billy invited me to Los Angeles to attend a bunch of after parties for the Primetime Emmy Awards. So I’m flying to LA this Friday. And what will I be doing until then? Working madly on my dress, cause a girl has to look good when waltzing through Hollywood. While there I’m also going to pay my friends at Warner Brothers a visit – they’re taking me on a tour of the studio and we’ll be going out to dinner Friday night. How nice is that? Former foes meeting together for a meal. How awfully symbollic. 🙂
Now get to voting! 🙂 And I promise, pictures will be up soon. (I hope.)
Okay, I vote yes. That’s probably going to take weeks, sooooo I say yes anyway because I’m a stick in the mud:)
I vote for 11 and 16, because I like to be specific and follow directions…unless I’m cooking, then it’s look out! Nice to see you blog again.
4 and 11 please. Both experiences sound sensorially delicious.
I think #9 sounds really cool. Like really really cool. Like insane awesome cool.
Yeah, and maybe like the Temple Square one.
