Yesterday, when I was feeling rather sucky after having to endure an ultrasound that hurt like you-know-what, my friend Brian tried to cheer me up by sending me a ridiculous Japanese video. It worked – I was giggling in no time. I tried to reciprocate by sending Brian one of my favorite Japanese videos of all time – Domo-kun – but I was dismayed when my Google search didn’t return any valid results. It seemed as if Domo-kun had completely disappeared from the Internet, his adventures no longer readily available to the masses. It was heart-breaking.

Naturally, I had to do something. This was an injustice, one that I had the power to rectify. Finally, my nature as a digital pack rat has been proven worthwhile! I whipped out a CD full of Domo-kun’s adventures that I had burned years ago, transferred them to my computer, zipped ’em up, and uploaded them to my server. See, my webspace is provided by Dreamhost, this delightfully wonderful company who has decided to continually add more and more space to my server. It keeps growing and I simply wasn’t taking advantage of the oodles of fresh new megabytes they’d given me. To take them up on their generosity, I’ve decided to add a new section to the blog – The Heather Show Video Variety Spectacular. Whenever I feel like it, I’ll upload more and more videos, all to keep you and I distracted from the suckiness that life can throw at us. Sounds like a good plan, right?

The Heather Show is currently screening a lovely variety of videos for your enjoyment, including the entire collection of Domo-kun animated shorts, the delightful ‘Yatta!’ music video straight from Japan, a few clips of yours truly being interviewed on the news, and last but not least, a couple of videos I made all by myself. Check them out, won’t you? I promise you’ll giggle your cute little heiny off.

Stay tuned – more video fun is on its way!
