I adore my Google ranking, I do I do! I often forget just how potent it is, but occasionally I’ll stumble across a reminder that my google ranking is freakishly amazing. Not that I did anything to deserve it, it’s all because of my friend Guan and his amazing super powers, but I love it nonetheless. Just a few weeks ago I blogged about how pleased I was that I’d figured out the song used for Turner Classic Movies’ 31 Days of Oscar commercials. And now, I’m the sixth result for the very same google search! Another person found my blog whilst searching for the uber-cool “Hip Hip Chin Chin” song I mentioned less than ten days ago – I was on the first page of results! A few days ago I also noticed that someone found me after searching for Domo Kun videos. I was result number seven and eight, one link to the blog entry and the other to the Video Variety Spectacular. My silly blog is actually helping people!

Even more important than that jingle is the fact that someone searched for “Dercum’s Disease pictures” and what did they find? My blog was the second result, and The Dercum Society was number seven! This is fantastic! Only a few links and a handful of weeks later and already people are finding the site I’ve poured my heart and soul into, and it’s all for a really good cause. This makes me very, very happy indeed.

There are lots of other more random, less helpful searches that lead people to me. Thanks to that entry I posted less than twelve hours ago, I was number one in a Google Blog Search for “domain name.” Freaky, eh? Thankfully on both Google and MSN search I’m also at the top for “The Heather Show”, which is quite appropriate. Nice to know there’s no competition for the title. 🙂 There are plenty of other searches involve stubbed, amputated, mangled, or in some way painful toes, and also dozens of searches relating to BMW. (Mwahaha, my plan is working… soon I want BMW to notice what a great service I’m doing for them, and they’ll repay me with a beautiful Z4… call it a commission; I already know of several people who have bought BMWs because of me. Surely it’s only a matter of time!)

As with all things in this world, there will eventually be some bad mixed in with all this yummy goodness. Apparently this week I’m also popular among googlers when it comes to Male Nurses. No idea where that one came from… teehee.

Now if only Google would pick up on all my pleas for presents, then when anyone searched for “gift ideas”, “presents”, or “worthy people to give a random present to”, I’d be the first result… Wouldn’t that be lovely? 🙂

Oh Google, how I love thee so… Keep bringing more and more people to my blog, and one of these days, I shall show thee my love; affection expressed in binary, tested in beta, and proven in endless geeky adoration. True love, sweet Google, true love. Hehe.
