I have fallen in love. So deeply, madly, incessantly, voraciously, passionately, all-encompassingly in love. The moment I lay my eyes upon the object of my affections, my heart leapt, my voice left me stranded and joyously bewildered; I wanted to cry out, confessing my so sudden longings, yet my heart had clasped hold of my throat, refusing to let the melodious air pass through to my lips. So in love…
Much like those lovers of old, I so thoroughly empathize with the Montagues and Capulets, for this yearning of mine is the product of unapologetic missteps, mistakes… Your siblings have offended me, all of your peers have forsaken their German heritage! But I would look past all of that, forgive every wrong in the world, for you and you alone.
Ahh, amore. I have been transported back to Europe on the wings of affection, and all for this astounding BMW. May I introduce the BMW Mille Miglia 2006 Concept. News of this new love is hot off the presses – just a few short hours ago, BMW sent off their German newsletter, full to the brim with photographs and tales of the creation of this astounding concept car. Thankfully I can read a bit of German, allowing me to bubble over with excitement at the idea of a recreation of the original BMW Mille Miglia.
You see, this concept car isn’t a sign of the coming production models from BMW. Rather, this is a celebration of their heritage; it is a modern interpretation of one of their most famous and highly regarded racing automobiles.
I’ll return later to fill you all in on its history and awesomeness, but I’m afraid the rush of excitement that has kept me up all night has faded, and I am left an exhausted shell of a lovesick girl. I’m fighting to keep my eyes open, but I just had to post this glorious news before retiring to bed at long last, and I had to do it now because no one else has done so. I will be the first to proclaim my love, and that is so incredibly important to me. Why, you ask? Because the original Mille MIglia is at the top of my list of all-time favorite automobiles. I couldn’t go to sleep without sharing the happy news.
Check out the Gallery of Gorgeousness I have put together, and don’t feel ashamed of the inevitable drooling; rest assured that you are not alone – we’re all fighting to pick our jaws back up off the floor. Just remember, the Mille is mine, I called dibs first!

Wow!
I think James Bond is going to have to go back to driving BMW’s! Forget the Ford powered Aston Martin’s, this is the one he needs to be driving!
Heather, dearest, seeing as how you have dibs on the first one, may I be the first to go for a ride in it? Please? I’ll even throw in a Pizza and several boxes of Mochi! 😉
Oh they totally cribbed 😉

wicked looking car! It looks like something out of ‘Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow’, or a revamped version of ‘The Shadow’. It’s retro and futuristic at the same time. Mmmmm, you’re a bad influence on me, H.
It’s so…shiny…
