Check it out, I made it into the Christian Science Monitor! Why? Because of my podcast, in all of its single episode glory! I was interviewed weeks ago and wasn’t sure when the article would debut. In fact, I didn’t even know that it was published today until I got a very sweet email from Rick Prelinger, the President of the Prelinger Archive where I downloaded all of the old films I’ve used as inspiration for the podcast. He sent me a very nice email saying he was pleased with the podcast and that he hoped I’d make many more episodes. No worries, Mr. Prelinger, more are on their way. 😀 How could I not? I mean, only one episode out and I’m already in the news – that has to be a good omen. Could this day get any better? First my amazing shopping haul, and now this. November the third rocks!
As for those of you who are new to the blog thanks to the article, welcome! My name is Heather, I’m 21 years old, I live in the DC metro area, I’m an Aquarius, I like long walks on the beach… um, wait, wrong intro. 🙂 More to the point, I’ve been blogging since the age of 16, and since then I’ve been on various remarkable adventures. I’ve led international boycotts against multinational companies (aka PotterWar), I’ve met royalty from small eastern European nations, I’ve traveled a LOT, I’ve produced and developed a few television shows, and I even started training to be a racecar driver. (And surprisingly, no, I am not a pathological liar – I’m just weird cause I was home-schooled.) But sadly my career in racing had to be delayed due to a bit of a dramatic health issue. I’m currently suffering from a bizarre condition known as Dercum’s Disease, which has left me bedridden for the past year as I’ve undergone numerous operations to try and get me back on my feet. I’m finally nearing the end of the treatment process and am just now getting back to life as normal. In a few months I’ll probably even get back to my blogs about Ferraris, racetracks, training, and driving at insane speeds. Won’t that be fun?
So if you like what you’ve seen in the podcast and the last paragraph seems at all interesting, stick around, won’t you? I always appreciate new readers and new friends, so take a seat and read awhile, or better yet, email me and let me know who you are. It’s always fun when the information goes both ways, don’t you think? 🙂 So thanks for stopping by!
I am so glad the Christian Science Monitor mentioned your site, because your podcast is hysterical. I will never be able to think of Chet Huntley with a straight face again (I’m dating myself, here, when I say that the Huntley-Brinkley Report was regularly watched in our house when I was growing up). I have forwarded the a link to your site to my work so I can share your genius tomorrow.
I just hope your second podcast comes soon! Oh, god, perhaps “come” isn’t a word I should use, having seen Chet’s rocket…
“And surprisingly, no, I am not a pathological liar – I’m just weird cause I was home-schooled.”
LMAO!
(p.s. Your “remember me” function on comments does not work. :()
Neat article. I only hope to some day reach a mere fraction of your notariety, which I have probably mispelled.
I watched the podcast, and I laughed my butt off! At the same time, I couldn’t help but to think “hey, I resemble that remark!” 🙂
