This is going to be short cause I have to type one-handed, but I wanted to post an update about what happened. It looks like falling and hurting my tailbone wasn’t the last of my bad luck. I caught a cold, my much-needed surgery was postponed, and today while trying to cut up an apple, my hands slipped and I sliced the hell out of my thumb. The cut is about an inch long, all the way across my thumbprint and around to the side a bit. It went so deep that I’m pretty sure I knicked the bone. As I’m sure you can guess, it feels lovely. The half hour ride to the hospital was even lovelier. Waiting at the ER for a while only to find that they were backlogged, that was oodles of fun. Thankfully there was an urgent care facility across the street and they weren’t as busy as the ER. So an hour and a half later, I was stitched up.
I have four stitches across my thumb (Wanna seeeeeee it? You know you do…) , which should make for an interesting thumbprint once it has healed. Damn this sucks. Do you ever get the feeling that maybe you died a long time ago and that you’re just stuck in Hell? Only Hell isn’t a firey pit filled with demons and pitchforks; it is a life filled with disappointments, constant bodily injuries, and any good news or good fortune is promptly snuffed out; just a quick tease of heaven before the sadness and pain redoubles upon you. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the way things work, because it seems awfully hellish to me, knowing that as bad as things are, they can always get worse. And more often than not, they do.

why? oh why? WHY IN GODS NAME DID I CLICK THAT LINK?! Looks sore tho, sorry to hear about it:(
Hope you feel better soon!!
Heather!! Enough is enough!! Hugs to you and the family.
Owwwwwww….>_O
I’m very sorry about everything that’s happened (Although I’m sure you hear that plenty, ne?). I swear, with all that’s happened, it makes you wonder what you did so wrong in a past life. I mean, what could you have possibly done–did you microwave puppies or something? >_>
Anyway, hope you feel better. *hugs*
Apparently I’m the only one who was happy to have clicked the thumb link. Nicely done, and I must say, those are some loveley, evenly spaced and well sewn stitches. My thumb print has a line in it too, but not nearly as dramatic a one as you’re going to have. Uniqueness is greatness!…even if you’re uniquely unfortunate, I guess.
Major-league bummer about the stitches.
However, once everything is healed, you’re going to look at the picture and say, “Cooooool.” 😉
I’ve got a “nice” scar, on my left thumb, from when I “tried” to take off the entire thumb print side, 16 years ago. After surgery on Wednesday, to excise a rare infection on a lymph node, I’ll have a “nice” scar on the right side of my lower jaw. I’ll have to take a picture, and get it posted to myspace. 7 stitches, if I counted correctly.
