Thanks to a kind anonymous source from within China, I have created a gallery of images showing the conditions young Chinese gymnasts are subjected to at the hand of their government’s training program. These images are simply heart-breaking, but serve as an illustration of the dark and painful road these children are forced to travel in order to reach the Olympic medal podium for the sake of their country’s glory. Please, grab some tissues, and take a look:
The Children of China’s Gymnastics Program
Again, no child should ever be subjected to such treatment, especially not against their will and the will of their parents. This is why it is so vitally important that the the minimum age requirement rule is upheld and enforced by the FIG and the IOC. These children deserve our care, concern, and protection.

Just sayin’ ๐
ive Chinese gymnasts suspected of being underage at the Beijing Olympics
have been cleared by the International Gymnastic Federation (FIG).
He Kexin – one of the five – won the women’s uneven bars, pushing Britain’s
Beth Tweddle into fourth place.
Gymnasts must turn 16 during the Olympic year to compete.
In a statement, FIG said it regarded the case as “concluded” but insisted it
is still looking at the ages of Chinese gymnasts at the 2000 Games in
Sydney.
“The FIG does not consider the explanations and evidence provided to date in
regards to these athletes as satisfactory,” said the statement.
BBC Radio 5 Live’s Gordon Farquhar said the FIG must be seen to act over the
Sydney Games.
“A spokesman was pretty clear there was a problem, but the FIG has a rule
book which says disciplinary issues can only be counted back five years,” he
told 5 Live Drive. “But there is a feeling that a message has got to be
sent.”
The investigation into the 2008 team was launched just before the end of the
Beijing Olympics on 24 August after suggestions that some of the girls
could be 14.
China had always insisted that the girls were old enough to compete.
He Kexin, Yang Yilin, Jiang Yuyuan, Li Shanshan and Deng Linlin were those
under investigation and claimed gold medals as part of the Chinese female
squad that won the women’s team event.
“Originals of official documents received from the Chinese Gymnastics
Association, specifically passports, identity cards and family booklets or
Household Registers, confirm the ages of the athletes,” read the FIG
statement.
Farquhar added that though the athletes had been cleared, the ruling would
not satisfy some people.
“There are people who won’t and don’t believe it, but the FIG say that to
continue to doubt isn’t feasible,” he said.
The gymnasts’ gold is tarnished and the still-damp ink from freshly printed identity documents will forever stain the hands of FIG and the IOC.
“Out, damn’d spot! out, I say!-One; two: why, then ’tis time to do’t.โHell is murky.โFie, my lord, fie, a soldier, and afeard? What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our pow’r to accompt?โYet who would have thought the old man to have had so much blood in him?” – Lady Macbeth
Fear not: some day, Burnham wood shall remove to Dunsinane.
This is really interesting! Thanks for posting!
WoW!!!!
Major Miller has blessed us with a passage from Lady Macbeth. This truly brings the whole Chinese Gymnastic situation into focus, Thanks for sharing Rob…
Here is one for you,
Long is the way, and hard, that out of hell leads up to light.( serial killer John Doe from the movie Se7en )
Not quite as nice as Lady Macbeth, but equally relevant..
The Chinese Womans gymnastic team have indeed found the light, and few are aware of the Hell they had to go through to find it.
contemplate this.
