Shop at Macy’s and love me tonight!
Ech hem. Excuse me. And now for something completely different.
I
The phrase ‘flying by the seat of your pants’ came from the early days of aviation, when planes lacked all the fancy instruments that pilots have today. When flying with poor visibility, they had to rely on the sensations that came through their biggest point of contact with the airplane: their posterior!
On the topic of politics–when I said that Bush made his share of stupid remarks, I didn’t mean that as a bash on him. He was just a convenient example of a popular politician, and the fact that he was Gore’s opponent in the last presidential election was supposed to make the point that they both said some dumb things and we should probably not put too much emphasis on them when deciding between the two of them. By no means did I intend to imply that you were a Bush supporter.
I’m also rather disillusioned with our current political parties and their candidates. I have mixed feelings about socialized medicine, and I generally feel opposed to it, but I haven’t thought about it deeply enough to give any coherent thoughts about it. I can’t really say I have any more against the Democrats than I do against the Republicans, though. I mostly just wanted to clear up the Gore issue because he deserves some credit for pushing funding of Internet research back when it didn’t look immediately important.
It’s sometimes nice to have Democrats around who will look into the future and promote stuff that doesn’t immediately benefit big business. They tend to be kinder to the arts, the environment, and other such things that Republicans would often choose to sacrifice for profits. I don’t always agree with them on everything, but I’m glad they’re around making a fuss.
10? Wow.

The aforementioned Renee is not the lovely Renee of Midwest Bloggin but a poor impersonator affiliated with datapex.com . Sure, I can see how they’d rather be me but since they are not, a great big BRONX CHEER to them.
